he Miguel de Benavides Library of the University of Santo Tomas, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with UnionBank of the Philippines, has launched a Project codenamed Lumina Pandit II which aims to the conservation of the rich heritage collection of the Library and Archives, the publication of its historical collection catalogues and the digitization of its resources.
Through the purchase of the CONTENT digital management (CONTENTdm) software, the library will be able to upload in the World Wide Web its rich historical resources and the current publications of the different faculties and colleges of the University.
It contains nine collection categories such as First University Collection, Collegiate, Law, Health Sciences, Filipiniana Materials, Filipiniana Theses and Dissertations, Dominicans and UST, Rare Periodical Publications, and Photographs. These collections were published from 16th century up to 1920 only except for the Rare Periodical Publications which was until 1945.
Collections include Current University Periodicals such as Acta Manilana, Ad Veritatem, Antoninus, Boletín Eclesiástico de Filipinas, Philippiniana Sacra, Tomas, Unitas, Tomas, etc., and books published recently by the UST Publishing House.
This collection is subdivided into seven categories such as: Libros, Becerros, Folletos, Libros de Matriculas de Segunda Enseñanza, Libros de Matriculas de Facultad, Internment Camp, and Photographs.
